Welcome to Michigan State University. To ensure you have the information you need to succeed, below you will find information regarding the New Faculty and Academic Staff Orientation Program. This orientation will: 1) acquaint you with Michigan State University; 2) identify the values, aspirations, and expectations of the university community; 3) introduce you to campus leaders; and 4) describe additional opportunities for engagement.
The 2021 New Faculty and Academic Staff Orientation has several parts:
- Live Synchronous Online Program, January 6, 2021 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM EST: This live online session will include a panel discussion that focuses on MSU culture and processes (going beyond information you will have learned in the information modules).
- Required/Recommended modules for orientation completion: Details will be forthcoming on how you will access modules that will provide essential information to aid you in a successful transition to Michigan State University. This information will include helpful resources from a number of campus offices as well as important policies and procedures. We request that you complete your review of these modules by January 27, 2021.
- Follow-Up Opportunities: Drop-in dates will be available once we return to campus for you to sit for a complimentary professional photo for your portfolio. Also, supplemental information on resources and upcoming workshops as the academic year continues will be shared here.
