Faculty Success Program
Each year, the NCFDD hosts several iterations of the Faculty Success Program, a twelve-week online program to support tenure-system faculty with the goals of increasing research and writing productivity, gaining control of their time, and balancing personal and professional responsibilities.
We ask for the help of academic leaders to identify tenure-system faculty who could most benefit from this type of opportunity. As you know, we are committed to diversifying our faculty ranks, retaining our diverse faculty and eliminating barriers to faculty success. This program provides additional support for achieving those goals.
The National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity was founded by a Michigan State University alumna, Kerry-Ann Rockquemore. The Faculty Success Program is NCFDD’s most robust and practical support for faculty, with programs intentionally designed to connect faculty from underrepresented groups to a broader community of scholars. The program components include weekly training modules, small group calls, private coaching and an online community of peers. If you wish to read more about this program, please see https://www.facultydiversity.org/fsp-bootcamp.
Typically each summer, the Provost agrees to support the program costs (~$3,500 per participant) for approximately 15 selected faculty. Upon successful completion of the program, each faculty member is required to provide a brief (1-page) description about how the experience affected their professional development and will receive $500 for professional travel from the Office of the Provost.
